A Tribute to Paul Reubens

Many people seem to remember the great Paul Reubens for his less than glorious 1991 charges involving a popcorn bucket and a porno. But I like to remember him as the kooky? zanny? crazy? creepy? Pee Wee Herman. Or even better - for his role in Blow (great movie by the way - if you haven't seen it make it happen!).

I know I'm not alone in my appreciation of him but even I was surprised when one of Paul Reubens' biggest fans showed up in the strangest of places last night. On my television, smack dab in the middle of my American Idol.

I had no idea that Jermaine Sellers had such love for the man. But clearly after the bow tie / gray jacket / forehead poof presentation he gave, there can be no doubt. Maybe next week he will paint his face blue and honor the amazing John Paragon (aka Jambi the Genie.)

Worldless Wednesday

My husband brought this unox brand sausage knit cap home from Holland last year and insisted on embarrassing me with it by wearing it in the grocery store.

Poor Telly Monster

I can't believe that Christmas is next week. More than that, I can't believe my trip is next week and I am so not ready.  I don't even know if I have my suitcase. I did my final shopping this weekend for some little gifts for neices and nephews (of course when I got home my husband reminded me that I forgot about one so I need to go out again. ugh.) I think I'm going to need an extra suitcase just for the presents. Is that crazy?

I also bought a new scarf and gloves for myself.  Amsterdam easily beats Seattle for the wettest weather ever and this time of year it's freaking freezing. On top of that - we do a ton of walking while we're there, so I need to be prepared.  My winter coat is navy blue and the scarf I found included several shades of blue as well as green and purple. Then I found a pair of purple chenile gloves to match - super cute!

I couldnt wait to wear my new acceseries to work Monday morning - but things quickly took a turn for the worse. By the time I got to the office, my super cute purple chenile gloves has shed purple fuzz all over my navy coat.

It looked like I murdered a muppet.

I'm hoping this is only because they are new. Do you think if I run them through the wash it will help?

"Thank You!"

In the car this week I noticed something strange, an odd behavior that I had no rational explaination for. It got me to wondering if I am the only person that has had this experience.

When changing lanes or merging onto the highway I found myself lifting my right hand in a wave. A bit of a "thank you" to the kind driver behind me for allowing a smooth transition.

The strange part ... I found myself not only waving but also saying the words "Thank you!" outloud. And not just saying them but saying them in a sweet sing-songy voice. WTF? That driver can't hear me. Why do I always do that? Am I alone here?

Morale of The Story Is ...

A man and his wife were having some problems at home and were giving each other the silent treatment. Suddenly, the man realized that the next day he would need his wife to wake him at 5:00 AM for an early morning business flight. Not wanting to be the first to break the silence (and LOSE), he wrote on a piece of paper:

'Please wake me at 5:00 AM '

He left it where he knew she would find it. The next morning the man woke up, only to discover it was 9:00 AM and he had missed his flight. Furious, he was about to go and see why his wife hadn't wokened him, when he noticed a piece of paper bythe bed. The paper said:

'It is 5:00 AM. Wake up.'

Men are not equipped for these kinds of contests.

Words of Wisdom

* Always wear stuff that will make you look good if you die in the middle of it.

* If you can't be kind, at least have the decency to be vague.

* If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

The Elusive Cat Shark

QUICK! Someone call National Georgraphic! I have finally procured a photo of the elusive Cat-Shark in it's natural habit. This shot will be worth millions!

Seriously though, my friend has the fatest and most patient cat ever born. Her name is Suki and this year she dressed up as a shark ... last year she was a chicken. I WISH I had a picture of that for you too.
